Eco-Tourism and Software Development

Eco-Tourism Meets Software Development

Excel SoftSources offers a unique combination of eco-tourism and software development for client executives.  Costa Rica has gained ground as a world-wide leader in both categories.

Costa Rica has attracted hundreds of millions of dollars in investment from some of the best-known names in technology, including Intel Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Microsoft Corp. Medical device makers and pharmaceutical companies are sprouting in the tropical heat. And the nation is becoming a hub for call centers and back-office outsourcing.

New Jersey-based manufacturer of surgical tools and other medical products chose Costa Rica.  Now when MedTech President George Blank needs to call someone in the Costa Rican plant, he knows the facility is just an hour behind East Coast time. And instead of spending nearly a day traveling to Asia, he can be in the capital, San Jose, within 4 1/2 hours on a nonstop flight.  "The actual going and doing and seeing and working is much easier than it is in China," said Blank, whose Costa Rica plant began production in early 2005. "Business conditions are a little easier."

Costa Rica rates very high on location attractiveness for outsourcing locations.  Excel SoftSources is a premier near-shore provider with a fully operational development center located in San Jose.

Increase Work-Life Balance

By engaging with Excel SoftSources, customers have the unique opportunity to gain all of the advantages of outsourcing near-shore - and - the chance for a weekend getaway to reknown eco destinations in Costa Rica.  Existing customers fly down for a "working vacation".  They stay the work week in San Jose in a location close to the development center.  For the weekend, they have the option fo drive or fly to any destination, including, but not limited to:

  • Beaches with world-class surfing
  • Volcanoes with lava flows and activities
  • Rainforests with tours and activities
  • Cloud forests with canopy tours, bird watching and ecology
  • White water rafting, rock climbing and hiking
  • Coffee plantations and tours
  • Tortuga Island and turtle watching

Within a few hours from the development center, one can escape to secluded waterfalls in cloud forests.

Outsourcing to Costa Rica and engaging Excel SoftSources can provide work-life balance that does not exist in other outsourcing destinations.
